Help me choose the right acne light therapy for me...
Should I buy one blue light or two?
Just one blue light is effective and a great place to start if you'd like to give it a try without spending a lot. You can easily add a 2nd blue light as your budget allows.
Always short of time? Two blue lights will cut your treatment time in half, for example, by treating both sides of the face at the same time.
If ClearLight, or other dermatologist's blue light treatment worked for you, two dichromatic blue lights is as close as you can get to dermatologists type treatment in-home. Also excellent if you'd like to offer blue light therapy in your practice at a reasonable cost. Dual dichromatic blue lamps give you 300 watts of pure, intense blue light therapy.
Should I buy a red light or not?
The purpose of red light in acne treatment is to speed the healing of the skin. Red light has a ton of other great health and beauty benefits for adults and more printed information on this is included with every kit.
Red light is not necessary or recommended for kids and teens for reasons explained in our FAQ .
Red light very beneficial for acne treatment, but is not necessary for successful acne treatment; so if you are on a tight budget, you can confidently start without it and add one later on.
What kind of fixture should I get?
Floor standing lamps offer the easiest and most comfortable treatment experience if you have the floor space. This is the professionals choice. (They collapse easily for storage.)
If floor space is limited or you need a portable solution, the clamp-on "Gaffer Grip" is a better choice for you.
You might already have a suitable fixture at home. Just make sure it is rated for 150 watts or higher.
